I thought I’d take the time to give a little background about me. I figure any reader of a book probably wants to know a little bit about the writer, right? Like where they came from, and what life experiences brought about the creation they just read.
I was born in Michigan, but moved when I was one, so I don’t know if that really qualifies me as a Michigander (that’s a funny word by the way). Since then I have lived in Orlando, Florida. I’ve enjoyed my fair share of hours at the amusement parks. You name them, I’ve probably done just about everything there is to do there. Disney World, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay are just naming the big ones. I love thrill rides, especially roller coasters. I think Busch Gardens has the best, but the other places have begun to close the gap.
I’m a big football fan. I like to watch it and play it (in person or as a video game). I grew up a Florida State Seminoles fan and find myself still painfully pulling for them each year. I don’t really have a favorite pro team. I dunno, it’s hard when there’s so much change every year. You hardly ever get the same team year after year, so I tend to be more a fan of certain players than a whole team.
I’m a dog-lover. Actually, I love all animals (except spiders – I’m a complete arachnophobe). I’ve had a wide array of pets through my years; the usual dogs and cats, a bird, some fish, hamsters and gerbils, and even a chameleon. I currently have two golden retrievers of my own – Sophie and Lily.
I love movies and TV. A few of my favorite shows are How I Met Your Mother (HUGE Jason Segal and NPH fan here), New Girl, Once Upon A Time (probably one of the most cleverly written shows on TV), The Walking Dead (probably the best show EVER), and Grimm.
I’m a big fan of period piece movies, especially if they have some action in it. The Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, and Last of the Mohicans are just to name a few. I really enjoy super hero movies as well like Iron Man, Batman, and The Avengers. And don’t get me started on the Harry Potter flicks (especially The Goblet of Fire). But I’ve been known to get down with some sweet Rom-Coms. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Just Friends, and Friends with Benefits are a couple I watch most.
I’m a big fan of Dan Brown’s work. I think The Da’ Vinci Code is probably my favorite novel of his, but Angels and Demons is a close second. To Kill a Mockingbird and The Lord of the Flies are a couple classics I loved. And I don’t think I can go one blog without at least hyping my book up. The best book I EVER read was The Orion Chronicles: The Journal of Forgotten Secrets. Just wait until book two. It’ll blow your face off! And it’s closer than you think.
Farewell for now…and keep reading.
Jeremy
